Fire Station 11 2.0

The client asked us to design a steel frame version of Fire Station 11. The original building had a masonry structure. We fit a new structure into the original floor plan then developed a facade to match. The new design features a simpler profile. The front entry is distinguished by the use of a small cantilever, planter and store fronts. The East elevation faces Midtown Atlanta and I-75/I-85. To give the building a greater presence on this side we created a 30 foot high "11". The interior of the building is made of exposed structure, heating and cooling ducts, and lights. Brick and Super Graphics are used in select locations to create more interest.
